Dashard Dawson is a native of Raleigh, North Carolina. Dashard attended and played basketball at Laurinburg Institute, an historic African American preparatory school in Laurinburg North Carolina.
In 2007, Dashard began his coaching career at an AAU Organization. Thereafter, he became a Head Coach of a NTBA travel basketball team, NCSkills, for several years. While coaching the NCSkills team, Dashard became known for his relationships with his players on and off the court because of his benevolence and connection with the players.
In 2017, Dashard became the Head Coach for the Apex Spurs Boy’s Varsity Basketball Team and the Assistant Coach for the Apex Spurs Boy’s Jr. Varsity Basketball team. Dashard led the Spurs Varsity team to several tournament championships during the 2017 Spring/Summer seasons. In addition, in 2017, Dashard was invited and participated as a coach at an All American Basketball Camp in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Dashard is happily married to his lovely wife, Delicia and they have a son, Dorian. Dashard encouraged his wife to join the Apex Spurs Organization, too. Also, Dorian is starting to play basketball and will be participating in the Spurs’ Children basketball clinics and programs.
