Maurice Wilkerson



Maurice Wilkerson is a native of Raleigh, North Carolina. Maurice played basketball at Enloe High School for four years.  He was on the All Conference and Academic Team at Enloe High School his senior year.

 Maurice attended a private two year college, Louisburg College, and played basketball from 2002-2004.  He led the Hurricanes in scoring, assists and steals. Also, Maurice made the All Region X Team. In 2006, Maurice graduated from Louisburg College with in Associates in Arts.  After graduating Louisburg College, Maurice attended and played basketball for Elizabeth City State University from 2004-2006.  Unfortunately, his basketball career was derailed by an injury.  However, Maurice still made the All Academic Team and CIAA All Tourney Team in 2006.  In 2007, Maurice graduated from Elizabeth City State University with a Bachelors in Mass Communications.  Thereafter, Maurice obtained offers to play with the Globetrotters B Team and some overseas teams but he decided to pursue coaching career.

 In 2007, Maurice started coaching with an AAU organization. In 2016, Maurice joined the Apex Spurs Organization as a head coach for the 8th grade team.  In 2017, Maurice was head coach of the 10th grade team and assisted with the development of the players throughout the whole program.

 Maurice is happily married to his lovely wife, Shontel Wilkerson and has two children, Maurice Jr and McKenzie.

He enjoys spending time with his family and friends.
