Coach T has an extensive background in the game of basketball.
Playing Experience
She began her playing career early in life which stretched through high school as she earned the honor of being selected to multiple all conference selections, team MVPs and was selected to the annual North Carolina East-West All Star basketball game. Coach T played her collegiate basketball at Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte NC.
Coaching Experience
Coach T has been coaching youth and high school sports for over 18 years at all age levels. She is the founder and head coach of the Richmond Jammers Travel Basketball Club established in 2002 where she began her coaching career in basketball. In her organization, she coaches boys/girls ages 5-18 at all skill levels. Her organization teams have continually had success on and off the court winning multiple championships while preparing the kids for the next steps in their basketball career. She has held positions as the Head JV (2003-2004) and Varsity Women’s Basketball Coach (2005-2006) at Richmond Sr High School in Rockingham NC as well as an assistant JV Boys basketball coach (2015-2016). She currently resides as the assistant coach to the Varsity Lady Raiders. Along with her Richmond Jammers Basketball Club, Coach T is currently the Head coach of the Apex Lady Spurs Elite 2025 girls travel basketball team. She also works as a personal basketball skill trainer offering individual player development.
Coaching Philosophy
Coach T coaching philosophy focuses around developing the fundamentals, motivating to bring out the highest possible individual effort and embracing the process of growth, which details the need to focus on how to get better every day in order to succeed later in the game of basketball and life. She believes in being open and honest with players while holding them accountable for their efforts. Coach T favorite basketball quote is “Hard work beats talent when Talent fails to work hard”.
